Little league teams are cranking up the bats at the state tournament this week.

The tourney has teams making those first steps toward a World Series run, and a hometown team is off to a stellar start.

Warner Robins' 11/12 West All-Stars are cruising so far, with two big-time wins: A 15-7 victory over Murphey Candler on Saturday, and a 12-1 win over Franklin County on Sunday.

With two wins in the pool-play tournament, Warner Robins has a strong chance to move on.

Assistant coach Jason Chance explains a third win on Monday wouldn't hurt.

"We're in a pretty good position right now going 2-0. We could probably still get there going 2-1, but we only know one speed. And we'll keep on going," Chance said.

Warner Robins west plays Martinez Evans out of Augusta tomorrow at 6 pm.
