MACON, Ga. – Bolstered by a winning streak to close the non-conference schedule, the Mercer men's basketball team jumped five spots in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25, as released by the outlet on Monday.
The Bears collected 161 points in the poll, rising from last week's position of No. 25. The team's No. 20 spot is the highest ranking for the program since being slotted No. 19 during the 2012-13 season. That year, the Bears debuted at No. 24 in the preseason edition of the poll.
Mercer (10-4) is riding a season-high five-game winning streak after downing Jacksonville 86-49 on the road on Monday evening. The Bears currently check in at No. 63 in ESPN's Daily RPI rankings.
