Looking at the man behind the dance: Kevin Canevari
Many seniors make up the Mercer team that has taken the nation by storm on many different levels.
One of those levels happens to be dancing. That's right: dancing.
Senior Kevin Canevari became a household name on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Vine, pretty much every major social media network.
He started dancing moments after he and his Bears defeated the #3-seeded Duke Blue Devils. His teammates surrounded him, and in a flurry of dance moves, he became instantly famous.
He wasn't doing just any dance. He was doing the popular, if not complicated, 'Nae Nae' dance, a dance created by the Atlanta-based rap group WeAreToonz. Big names such as Dwight Howard have appeared with the group, doing the 'Nae Nae.
It didn't take long for Canevari's fame to spread. Coach Hoffman said that when he and the team went to a restaurant to eat dinner two girls approached Canevari to have their picture taken with him. Canevari, of course, didn't know them.
"That pretty much sums up social media, I guess," Hoffman said, smiling.
