The University of Georgia kicked off preseason football camp today, down one explosive player.
Georgia athletics announced wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell suffered a right knee injury earlier this week.
The team announced the injury this morning, saying Mitchell injured the knee while running routes with teammates. He underwent an arthroscopic procedure Thursday to address a cartilage injury.
Mitchell missed all of last season, except for Georgia's first offensive series. He tore the ACL in his right knee celebrating a Georgia touchdown against Clemson.
According to UGA Director of sports medicine, Ron Courson, Mitchell is expected to make a full recovery.
There is no timetable set for his return to the field.
