ATLANTA -- A group of minority contractors say they want more transparency in the bidding process for the new Atlanta Falcons stadium project.
Members of the Georgia Black Contractors Association held a news conference near the site of the new stadium on Monday. They say bid packages will come out soon, but they're afraid they will be left out despite city leaders saying they want to see 31 percent of the bids go to minority contractors.
"We'd like to be able to track this $1.2 billion opportunity from beginning to end and ensure that there is inclusion, and we're just asking for something that everyone is saying that they want. We just want to ensure fairness," said Ron Baker of Ga. Black Contractors Association.
