Friday, July 3rd, is my last day here at WMAZ. I am moving back to my home state of Texas to pursue my passion of meteorology. I will miss the great friends and family here at WMAZ, however I am excited to be moving closer to home.

I have enjoyed working at WMAZ with great friends and co-workers, as well as meeting you all out and about in the community. Each and every one of you have taught me something valuable that I will take wherever I go.

I have loved being a part of the WMAZ weather team working alongside Ben and Matt. I can't thank Katelyn and Sheera enough for the work they do on the morning shows. It truly has been so much fun working the mornings with these two ladies.

To Middle Georgia, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your mornings and weekends. You all will always have a special place in my heart.

Thank you all again! Try and stay cool in this Georgia summer heat.

Olivia James joined 13WMAZ in July 2013. She comes to the Heart of Georgia from the Heart of Tornado Alley in Norman, Oklahoma. Olivia graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology and a minor in Broadcast Journalism. Olivia interned with KOCO in Oklahoma City for a year and at KTRK in Houston, Texas.

For the last three years, she participated in OU Nightly, a student-run live newscast. Olivia knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life from a young age. Broadcast Meteorology was the place to combine her passion for the weather and her desire to serve the community. Olivia was "Sooner-Born" and "Sooner-Bred" but considers her home The Woodlands, Texas.

When she is not forecasting the weather she enjoys sports, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and cheering on her fellow Sooners!
