The Georgia Department of Transportation will close the northbound and southbound lanes of SR 11 between the cities of Hawkinsville and Abbeville beginning at 10 a.m. Monday June 18.
The road will remain closed for three weeks, reopening at 5 p.m. Friday July 6, weather permitting, the department said in a news release.
Department crews will begin "emergency repairs" to the bridge over Bluff Creek to replace 175 feet of concrete handrail that was damaged in an incident earlier this week.
