Alex Forbes is a meteorologist for 13WMAZ. He joined the 13WMAZ Weather Team in May 2021 and moved to 13WMAZ Morning in June 2022.
Alex received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences, with a concentration in Professional Meteorology, from Mississippi State University in April 2021.
Originally from the metro Atlanta area, Forbes interned with the FOX 5 Storm Team in 2019. He also experienced Hurricane Matthew in the Florida panhandle and Hurricane Laura in Louisiana.
Additionally, during college, Alex was a congressional aide for a member of Congress in the United States House of Representatives.
Alex first became interested in weather in elementary school. Throughout grade school, Forbes job shadowed at places like The Weather Channel, the Storm Prediction Center, the National Weather Service, and other local television stations.
Outside of meteorology, Alex is an avid news connoisseur, a drone pilot, and a die-hard college football fan.
