MACON, Ga. — Jessica Cha joined 13WMAZ in Feb. 2022 as a Multi-Skilled Journalist.
Originally from Greeley, Colorado, she graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Media Studies in May 2020.
In college, she reported for both the university’s live, student-run weekly newscasts, News Team Boulder and Buff Sports Live. Cha spent her time shooting, writing, and editing.
Cha went on to have an internship and, soon after, freelanced for AuroraTV in 2020, a municipal television station for the city of Aurora, CO where she learned to polish her skills as an MSJ.
Her love of connecting with her community and helping tell their stories is what encouraged her to pursue journalism.
Jessica’s first beat assignment is in Baldwin County and Milledgeville.
When she’s not reporting, you can find her playing her ukulele or hanging out with friends.
