Yatile 'B.J.' Patterson

MACON, Ga. — Yatile “B.J.” Patterson joined the WMAZ team in Dec. 2021 as a Visual Storyteller.

He graduated from Fort Valley State University in Dec. 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Media Studies and a minor in Marketing. Throughout his college career, he served in multiple student leadership positions, including: Student Ambassadors, Royal Court, and Student Government Association. 

His extracurricular activities included cheering, dancing, and community service.

B.J. interned as a student reporter under Dr. Karlisha Booze and KBTV. He was also the editorial director of his school's newspaper, “The Peachite.”

Born in Belle Glade, Florida, B.J. was raised in a small agricultural city. B.J. enjoys reading, meditating, eating, exercising, and spending time with his dog. He hopes to further advance his skills as a Visual Storyteller and continue to create content 13WMAZ viewers will love.
