GRAY, Ga. — Three people in Jones County have been indicted on charges of insurance fraud after a fire in July 2018.

According to a release from the Georgia insurance commissioner’s office, the home on Friendship Church Road burned down on July 2, 2018.

The suspects were identified as: Peggy Pelham (1 count of insurance fraud), Duane Collins (2 counts of insurance fraud) and Rachel Keith (2 counts of insurance fraud).

The commissioner’s office says Pelham owned the residence and was renting it to the couple. Due to the extensive damage in the fire, investigators couldn’t tell who started the fire or how it was started.

Collins and Keith were arrested on May 1. Keith bonded out while Collins remains in jail on a $45,000 cash bond.

Pelham was arrested on Wednesday morning and booked into jail.
