MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — A man accused of kidnapping a Milledgeville woman and stuffing her in his truck earlier this week has been captured.
According to a news release, the sheriff’s office got a tip around 4 p.m. Friday that Willie Wilkerson was walking down the Milledgeville Bypass near Irwinton Road.
Southeast Regional Task Force members and Baldwin deputies responded to the scene and they located Wilkerson near the intersection.
He was formally taken into custody without incident around 4:20 p.m. He will be taken to the jail once he’s medically cleared because he had been hiding in the woods since the alleged kidnapping.
