Man found shot to death in doorway of south Macon home

Deputies got to the scene and found 30-year-old Johntavies Coleman dead in the doorway

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fourth homicide of 2020 after a shooting in south Macon.

According to a news release, it happened Thursday night around 9 p.m. at a home in the 500-block of Moreland Avenue

Deputies were called to the scene for a person shot and when they got to the scene, they found 30-year-old Johntavies Coleman lying in the doorway with a gunshot wound in the torso.

Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb Coroner Leon Jones.

The suspect left the scene before deputies arrived and there is currently no information about them.

No one else was injured in the shooting.
