Cell phones, weed found before entering 2 Central Georgia state prisons

The Georgia Department of Corrections says they recently intercepted a large amount of contraband on their way to two state prisons.

In a post on Facebook, the department says they intercepted 52 lighters, 23 packs of tobacco, eight baggies of rolling papers, 2,450 grams of loose tobacco, 27 cell phones, 27 chargers, and 160 grams of marijuana on its way to Hancock State Prison.

In another post, they said they intercepted 19 cell phones, one watch, one pair of eyeglasses, seven phone chargers, eight charging cables, and one pair of earbuds on its way into Central State Prison.

The department thanked the other agencies involved in finding the contraband.
