FORSYTH, Ga. — The city of Forsyth's payroll clerk was arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.
A Monroe County Sheriff's Office news release says a former city employee complained to the sheriff's office that someone had illegally accessed her checking account information and used it to make purchases.
After an investigation, there was enough evidence to arrest Mary Linda Black. The investigation found that there was $152.20 missing from the checking account.
Black is charged with one count of identity fraud and one count of theft by taking.
The investigation is still ongoing and the city of Forsyth is fully cooperating with the investigation.
