Macon man charged with murder in Death Valley street party shooting

The first arrest has been made in an incident that left two men dead and several others injured

MACON, Ga. — A man is behind bars without bond on charges he fatally shot a man at a street party in west Macon.

According to a news release from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office, deputies and the US Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force arrested 24-year-old Brandon Tyler.

The sheriff’s office says they found Tyler with the help of a tip that came into Macon Regional Crimestoppers.

He was arrested without incident at the Park Apartments on Northside Drive around 12:20 a.m. Monday.

He is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Deroderick Ridley on June 2 at the Death Valley street party. He is being held without bond, and had a warrant for probation violation for an unrelated case.
