UPDATE: Man found shot in west Macon road

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says they found the victim in the road with gunshot wounds

MACON, Ga. — One person is in stable condition after being shot multiple times in the legs Friday morning.

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, it happened around 6:30 a.m. on Melbourne Street.

It says deputies found 53-year-old James Thomas, of Stone Mountain, in the middle of the road with several gunshot wounds.

Thomas couldn't give any information to investigators on the suspect or what led to the shooting.

He was taken to the Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
