Ford came out of the shed with a shotgun and pointed it at deputies. One of the deputies fired at Ford, missing him. Ford ran into the woods and has not been located.

The GBI will conduct an independent investigation.

This is the 111th officer involved shooting the GBI has been asked to investigate in 2022.

Sheriff Richard Chatman says deputies and SWAT team have ended the search for Christopher Ford for the night.

He says they continued to search nearby buildings and hunting locations, but did not find Ford.
