Woman stabbed to death in front of officers at Warner Robins townhomes

It happened at Foxwood Townhomes.

UPDATE: 3:40 p.m. 

The Warner Robins Police Department says the victim is 31-year-old Monis Traci Howard-Roberts and the suspect is 25-year-old Shaneka Renee Smith. 

Officers assisted Roberts until Ems arrive. 

She sustained two stab wounds to her upper chest, which severed an artery. 

This the 9th homicide in Warner Robins this year. The most the city has ever seen over the course of one year.

The Warner Robins Police Department is investigating after a woman was stabbed to death in Warner Robins Thursday morning. 

Spokeswoman Jennifer Parson says it happened at Foxwood Townhomes on Watson Boulevard. 

Parson says the call came in for a domestic disturbance around 5:45 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, a woman, 31, opened the door. 

Shortly after opening the door, another woman, 25, came downstairs and stabbed the victim with a knife in front of the officers. Officers immediately Tased the suspect to eliminate the situation. 

Parson says that's when the woman was transported to the hospital and later died from a knife wound to her upper body. 

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with murder and aggravated assault. Parson added that the suspect had just been released on battery and obstruction charges on Wednesday. She also confirms that the suspect and victim were in a relationship and there was a history of violence between them. 

Parson says names have not been released at this time. This is still an ongoing investigation.
