One person is dead and five others wounded after a series of three shootings overnight in south Macon.
Emmanuel Stroud Jr., age 24, died just before 6 a.m. Sunday at a Macon hospital, according to Bibb County coroner Leon Jones.
He said Stroud is Bibb's 20th homicide victim of the year. That's as many as Bibb had in all of 2016, Jones said.
The three shootings happened within three hours and about 6 miles apart. But so far, they do not appear to be connected, said sheriff's spokesman Clay Williams.
The first happened just before midnight on Walmar Drive.
Stroud and 36 year-old Tecovelin Starling were walking when someone began shooting.
Starling is listed in stable condition at Navicent.
About an hour later, someone started shooting during a party at a home on Hatcher Place.
Three people were injured.
All three are in stable condition at Navicent.
The third happened two-and-a-half hours after that, just across Houston Avenue from the house party.
33-year-old Travis Brown was walking down Ibex Street when someone shot him in the left side of his face.
He is also in stable condition at Navicent.
Williams says there is no information yet on suspects in any of the three cases.
Anyone with information on any of the shootings can call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
