13WMAZ's Suzanne Lawler met with Lois Railey of Fort Valley, who shared her recipe for an 18-layer cake. She hit the jackpot in the dessert realm.

Lois says she probably found it in a book, but she has been making the cake for years. Sometimes, she doesn't because she believes that if you don't measure, it gets better.

Lois' 18-layer cake is made of very thin layers, each made separately.

INGREDIENTS

4.5 cups flour
3 cups sugar
3 sticks butter
1 cup sweet milk
1 cup buttermilk
3 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
6 eggs

Chocolate frosting:

3 cup sugar

1 cup cocoa
24 ounces evaporated milk
2 sticks butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix cocoa, sugar, and milk in large pot. Bring to boil and add butter. Cook for 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla.

DIRECTIONS

Cream butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each. Add 1/2 flour, 1 cup milk, 1 cup buttermilk. Beat well. Add remaining flour and vanilla. Beat well. Bake at 425 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes.
