On Friday, Dec. 7, 13WMAZ morning reporter Wanya Reese was presented the award at the association's annual conference in Atlanta after being nominated by Dublin City Schools.

The Beacon Award recognizes print and electronic media representatives whose continuous coverage of the school system has created a better understanding of public education issues.

Those issues range from reporting on new programs, policies or issues affecting schools, students, parents and communities.
