Four people were taken to the hospital Wednesday after a log truck flipped and hit a van head-on.
According to Sgt. Linda Howard with the Bibb Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Jeffersonville Road, Emery Highway and Ocmulgee E. Boulevard.
She says a log truck was heading into Macon and ran a red light.
After running the light, the driver swerved to miss a car on Ocmulgee Boulevard.
When the truck swerved, it also overturned and hit a black Honda Odyssey head-on.
Three people in the van and the log truck driver were taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health with non-life-threatening injuries.
Emery Highway is expected to reopen shortly.
