Andalusia, home of Flannery O'Connor, set to reopen next week

The home has been undergoing repairs since August 2017.

Andalusia, the home of author Flannery O’Connor, will reopen to the public Tuesday, June 19, in Milledgeville.

The grounds have been closed for repairs since August 2017, when the home was gifted to Georgia College and State University by The Flannery O’Connor-Andalusia Foundation.

O’Connor graduated from Georgia College in 1945 and she lived at Andalusia from 1951 until her death in 1964.

Visitors will be able to tour the main floor rooms.

Andalusia will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Sundays from 2- 4 p.m. All tours take place on the hour. The last tour will begin at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for pre-booked groups and senior citizens and $2 for students. Children six and under are free.

Andalusia is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
