AUSTELL, Ga. -- Police are investigating reports of gunfire that were sprayed at a Cobb County park during a Little League baseball game over the weekend.

Police said the incident happened April 21, when officers responded to Wallace Park at 6289 Pisgah Road to reports of gunfire and found about 50 vehicles leaving the park.

A Little League umpire told 11Alive that the incident happened between games and sent families running for cover.

The umpire said the gunfire sounded like at least two people shooting at each other and he estimated there were at least 50 shots fired. He described families running to their cars and the one exit out of the park was quickly backed up with people trying to leave.

When police arrived, people were scattering from the park. There were no victims located, but two vehicles had been struck with bullets and there was evidence there were multiple shots fired.

The umpire said he talked to people who have been coming to this park for years saying this was the first shooting they had witnessed at the park.

No witnesses have come forward and anyone with information is asked to call the Cobb County Police Department.

Police also received reports of two suspected shooters running through the woods of a Sweetbriar Drive neighborhood.

A witness also told police he saw two subjects running through the yard south of his. Both had firearms and were shooting north toward the cars leaving the park.

The witness described one subject as a black male, wearing all red, carrying a pistol in his hand. The second subject was described as a black male wearing a black shirt and camouflage or multi colored shorts, also carrying two handguns, which he was firing as he ran away.

Another called told police she saw one suspect, who was wearing all red, hide when he saw police cars responding to the incident.
