Woman dead in crash with panel truck on Hawkinsville Road in Macon identified

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, just before 5:30 p.m., a woman was driving south on Hawkinsville Road and lost control.

MACON, Ga. — UPDATE, 7:45 p.m.:

According to Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones, the victim has been identified as 39-year-old LeighAnne Hise, of Warner Robins.

UPDATE, 6:55 p.m.:

Bibb deputies are investigating after a 2-vehicle wreck that left a woman dead on on Hawkinsville Road near its intersection with Rex Elder Boulevard Friday evening.

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, just before 5:30 p.m., a woman was driving south on Hawkinsville Road and lost control. She crossed over into the northbound lane and hit a panel truck that was driving north, and was killed. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Bibb Coroner Leon Jones.

The driver of the panel truck was treated by paramedics and released from medical care at the scene.

Macon-Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says a woman is dead after a two-car wreck Friday evening.

It happened just before 6 p.m. on Highway 247 and Rex Elder Boulevard near the airport.
