The Bibb County Sheriff's Office will offer free defensive driving courses to teens throughout the summer.

According to a Facebook post from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the classes will be offered to anyone between the ages of 16 and 20 with a valid driver's license.

The course, named the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course, is free and each class will last for three days including two days of classroom instruction and one day of driving simulations.

A free breakfast and lunch will be provided each day during the course.

This course does not count toward Joshua’s law requirements, but most insurance companies offer a discount for anyone who's taken the course.

The schedule for classes:

Class 1: July 9 thru 11, 2018 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Class 2: July 16 thru 18, 2018 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Class 3: July 23 thru 25, 2018 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The first two days of classroom instruction will be held at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Outreach Section Office, which is located at 2525 Pio Nono Avenue.

The third day of driving simulators will be at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Training Range on Confederate Way off of Ocmulgee East Blvd.
