The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says they've now identified a body found behind a home in West Macon.
According to a news release, the victim is 58 year old Donna Whipple.

Investigators returned to the scene Thursday morning to get pictures and evidence in daylight, according to SG.t Linda Howard with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
The cause of death is still under investigation pending an autopsy.

A woman's body was found behind a home in west Macon Wednesday night.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, someone walking along Columbus Road, noticed a foul smell, and discovered the body.
The sheriff's office said the body was badly decomposed. At this time, the woman's race and cause of death can't be determined.
Deputies do say the woman was wearing a red t-shirt with "Thing 1" on the front.
The sheriff's office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman. They are asking anyone with a missing family member to come forward.
