The Cochran Bypass is set to reopen by Thursday, June 21, according to a news release from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be shifted onto the newly rebuilt section of State Route 87 (US 23) between Foskey Road and Dykes Circle.
Although the bypass is finished, State Route 87 is set to be tied into the newly widened highway.
That means traffic must detour onto the bypass while this is being done.
This second detour will only be in place for around 30 days.
The bypass connects a five-lane section south of Cochran to a four-lane section north of Cochran.
The total cost of the project was $21.3 million.
