MACON, Ga. — A Georgia State Patrol trooper's daughter has finally returned to her home in South Georgia after she was seriously injured in a crash that left her father dead.
The accident happened last month on March 19.
Trooper Tyler Parker, 24, was off duty when he lost control of his vehicle during a downpour and hit a tree head on. He was killed in the accident, and Parker's 3-year-old daughter Savannah, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the wreck, was seriously hurt.
Law enforcement from around the state gathered to remember the trooper shortly after he died.
On Thursday, the Crisp County Sheriff's office shared the moment when Savannah finally returned home after being released from a Macon hospital.
