"Dr. C" Bill Cummings passes away

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says Dr. Cummings passed away from natural causes Thursday.

Bill Cummings, whose weekly segments on leadership appeared on 13WMAZ for more than a decade, died Thursday at Coliseum Medical Center.

That's according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Cummings, who was 86, died from natural causes at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jones said.

"Doctor C" was a teacher, writer, religious scholar, hospital executive and a leadership consultant who worked with many companies across Georgia and beyond.

According to his bio, "Dr. Cummings is a past president of the Macon Rotary Club, past chairman of the United Way of Macon, and has served on numerous Boards such as Wesleyan College, the Georgia Bar Disciplinary Board, the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism, the Georgia Bar’s Fitness Board, the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home, the Macon and the Forsyth Chambers of Commerce, the Macon Volunteer Clinic, & Medical Billing Resources."

Cummings was married to the former Ann Conkey, and they have two children, Bill Jr. and Gena, and two grandsons, Michael and Austin.
