Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce organizes job fair for Valmiera employees

The plant, which employed almost 400 people, announced unexpectedly that they were closing immediately on Monday.

LAURENS COUNTY, Ga. —

The Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce is organizing a “specialized targeted” job fair for displaced Valmiera Glass employees, according to a news release.

The job fair will be for only former Valmiera employees and closed off to the public.

The event will be held in the Porter Center at Oconee Fall Line Technical College on July 3.

This announcement comes after almost 400 workers at the Valmiera plant in Dublin were notified that the plant would be closing immediately, on Monday, June 17.

The Latvia-based corporation has suffered a financial downturn and loss of revenue, according to a separation notice obtained by 13WMAZ.
