Leaders at Fort Valley State University are celebrating after an outside agency lifted an accreditation warning on the school.
Last year., the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools put the school on warning.
Among other areas, they said they found problems with learning-support programs, financial stability, facilities and financial aid.
Last week, the accreditation agency lifted the warning, saying Fort Valley State had made progress.
The school says they've become more efficient in the past two years, introduced new technology, improved their budgeting and financial controls and boosted enrollment by 2.7 percent.
The school has struggled with budget and enrollment problems for several years, and the GBI is currently investigating alleged sexual misconduct by some Fort Valley State staff members.
Neither the GBI nor the college have discussed details of the allegations.
