ROBERTA, Ga. — A Crawford County probate court employee has been arrested by the GBI amid allegations of embezzlement.

According to a news release, the sheriff’s office requested the GBI on Nov. 26 for a theft/embezzlement investigation involving probate court funds.

The release says their investigation revealed 39-year-old Lindsay Gilmore-Hudson, a seven year employee of the court, has embezzled around $4,000 between March and November 2019.

Gilmore-Hudson was arrested and charged with theft by taking and providing false statements on January 17, 2020.

The GBI investigation is still ongoing and will be turned over to the District Attorney's Office once it's been completed.
