Jones has identified the woman as 25-year-old Kaley Gay of Lizella.
She was shot twice, once in the neck and once in the chest.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says a Bibb County deputy shot a woman Tuesday morning in a home after she fired first.
Bibb County Chief Coroner Leon Jones confirms the woman died around 11:30 a.m.
Her name has not been released, but Jones described her as a 25-year-old woman.
Special Agent in Charge J.T. Ricketson says the shooting happened around 10:15 a.m. at 5530 Fulton Mill Road.
Ricketson says four officers with the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force were serving an arrest warrant for a man at the home. One of the four was the Bibb deputy.
The male suspect complied with officers and was in custody when the officers patted down the woman in the kitchen of the home.
Ricketson says that's when the woman fired at the officers with a small concealed semi-automatic handgun.
He says the Bibb deputy fired back, hitting her at least once.
The other officers were a U.S. Marshal, a Jones County deputy and an officer with the state Department of Community Supervision.
Investigators later determined that there were outstanding warrants against the woman as well, Ricketson said.
Lieutenant Sean DeFoe with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the deputy who shot the woman will be placed on administrative leave with pay while the GBI and the sheriff's office each conduct their own investigations.
DeFoe says this is standard protocol.

A woman is in the hospital after being shot by an officer serving an arrest warrant in west Bibb Tuesday morning.
According to GBI Special Agent JT Ricketson, it happened just after 11 a.m. in the 5500-block of Fulton Mill Road in Lizella.
He says the woman shot was not the suspect they were looking for, and her condition is unknown at this time.
The GBI is investigating and right now, no further details are available.
