Wednesday morning, a high speed chase led to a drug bust in Monroe County.

According to a Facebook post from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, a deputy attempted to stop a silver Chevrolet Malibu and the vehicle sped off.

They say the chase reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, and even made a U-turn in the median on the interstate.

The vehicle then got off around the High Falls Road exit and drove down an embankment.

When deputies searched the vehicle they found several ounces of marijuana, scales, bagging material, a stolen gun, and counterfeit bills.

A deputy arrested the driver shortly after he attempted to run from the scene.
