Warner Robins Mayor Randy Toms has asked the Houston Sheriff to investigate whether a city employee committed fraud or forgery.

Warner Robins Mayor Randy Toms has asked the Houston Sheriff to investigate whether a city employee committed fraud or forgery.

That's according to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

It says Toms contacted them last week after one Warner Robins employees made a complaint about possible criminal conduct by another worker. They're investigating the case as possible fraud or forgery.

The news release says Cpl. Eric Salter is the lead investigator, but they're not releasing any further details about the case at this time.

On Thursday evening, Councilman Keith Lauritsen said the dispute involves one city employee alleging another placed a potentially fraudulent document in the employee's personnel folder.

He declined to comment further on who the employees are or what department they work in.

Mayor Randy Toms declined to comment on the investigation and referred 13 WMAZ to the media release from the Sheriff's Office.
