JONES COUNTY, Ga. — The Jones County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of one of their own Thursday night.
According to a post from the sheriff's office's Facebook page, Captain Billy Mitchell passed away after a battle with cancer.
The post asks the community to stand with them in support of his family and to keep in their thoughts.
Jones County Sheriff Butch Reece says services for Mitchell will be held on Monday, October 18.
