Laurens County deputy fired after arrest on battery charge

The sheriff's office says they've fired one of their deputies after his arrest today

DUBLIN, Ga. — A Laurens County deputy has been fired after an incident Friday.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a domestic call that involved Deputy Demetrius Green and his wife.

Green was arrested and charged with simple battery under the Family Violence Act.

The sheriff’s office says Green was with them for around five years.
