WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The Houston Medical Center was placed on lockdown Thursday night.

According to Kevin Rowley, Executive Director of Marketing at Houston Medical Center, the hospital was placed on lockdown as a safety precaution. Rowley says a shooting happened near the hospital, but not on the hospital's property.

Jennifer Parson with the Warner Robins Police Department says the victim was taken to the hospital by a private car. That car is now the crime scene until investigators can determine where the shooting took place. She reiterated that the shooting did not happen in the hospital's parking lot. 

The lockdown was lifted just before 11 p.m. Thursday night.
