Macon Bacon job fair brings in eager Central Georgians

A job fair hosted by the Macon Bacon is giving fans a chance to get involved.

MACON, Ga. — The Macon Bacon's job fair gave fans and locals alike an opportunity to get involved in one of summer's favorite pastimes Tuesday.

Central Georgians were lined up outside of Luther Williams field in the hopes of working for the collegiate summer baseball team.

"I just thought it would be a fun summer job," said applicant Chelsea Johnson. "You get paid to spend the summer at the ballpark."

The Macon Bacon were looking to fill staff positions for greeters, waitstaff, cashier,s and entertainment.

"Customer service is the number one thing we focus on here at Macon Bacon, and so we want people who are gonna be energetic. They're gonna love coming to work every night and they're gonna put a big smile on the face of everybody that comes through the gates," said Nick Jones, the Director of Ballpark Operations.

Jones and other members of Macon Bacon's staff began interviewing multiple applicants at 4 p,m.

The home opener is May 31st against the Florence Red Wolves.
