You may notice that this year, there is a very unique Christmas display on Poplar Street in downtown Macon.
No, the city didn't organize this.
While Bryan Nichols says the city has stood behind him and helped him along the way, it is actually a project that he says he's been working on for the past two years.
"A couple of years ago I actually had the idea of doing something like this to draw people not only downtown, but to Macon as a whole," Nichols said about his vision.
He says he thinks the display with 250,000 Christmas lights will draw people from all over to downtown Macon.
Nichols says the Christmas displays are not just there to look pretty.
There will be shows in which the lights will be synced with special music made by the Macon Pops starting Friday, December 1.
"The show times wil be every day at 7, 8 and 9, but the lights will go on at 6 (PM) and go off at 11," Nichols said about the light shows.
He says that he is still working on the display, so more will come as time goes by.
Bryan Nichols is the co-owner of Taste And See Coffee Shop and Gallery, owner of The Warehouse Lofts, Bingo Lofts and a historic preservationis, saving old houses and buildings by turning them into Lofts and apartments.
He is also owner of Total Systems AV and works at Christ Chapel @ Sportstowne.
