Macon man arrested in Lamar Street shooting death

Germori Amel Mallory turned himself in to deputies Friday.

MACON, Ga. — Bibb deputies arrested a man in the January 22 shooting death of 19-year-old Jahfari Shakwun Bullard.

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Germori Amel Mallory turned himself in to deputies Friday. The release says Mallory was playing with a gun Wednesday night when it went off, hitting Bullard in the stomach. 

Bullard was pronounced dead just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday. 

Mallory was taken to the Bibb County jail where he is charged with involuntary manslaughter. He is being held without bond.
