According to a Mercer Campus Police incident report, 19-year-old defensive back Guysen Bohler assaulted a fellow student early Thursday at a university loft housing building.

The report says the alleged assault happened between 12:20 a.m. and 3:20 a.m., and that Bohler and the alleged victim knew each other.

The report indicates Bohler used his hands or fists as weapons in the assault.

He was arrested and booked into Bibb County Jail Friday morning, about 32 hours later, and was released from jail Friday night on $4,600 bond.

Mercer Police redacted Bohler's own name and address from their report, which are contained in the jail records, and the name of a witness.

The Mercer football team says he is suspended from the Bears indefinitely, and neither the team nor the school is commenting further.
