MACON, Ga. — June 6 marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the invasion of Normandy. People across the world will be celebrating the day. If you want to honor the veterans that fought in D-Day, you can visit the Museum of Aviation.
The museum will be throwing a commemoration and it's free to the public. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can view World War II documentaries and meet with WWII veterans.
Kids can meet Barry the B-17 or take a ride in the museum's Virtual Reality Simulator for $7. The museum will also have the B-17G Flying Fortress plane open for viewing.
In addition to viewing memorabilia, a southern-style quartet and cigarette girls will be there to help transport you to the 1940s.
Along with the main experience, the Warner Robins Heritage Society will honor veterans at 9:17 a.m. in the Nugteren Hangar.
