Jasmine Sayles has been teaching for 11 years and currently teaches fifth grade at Shirley Hills Elementary.
She says science is her favorite subject to teach and she loves building relationships with her kids and teaching them not only skills that are useful in the classroom, but skills to prepare them for their further levels of education.
"I'm sending them off to hopefully be productive citizens and build character," Sayles said.
Jhana Harvey wrote in about Ms.Sayles, and this is why she thinks her teacher is tops...
"Have you ever had a teacher that pushes you, reaches higher ground, cares, and makes learning, fun, colorful, and lively as my teacher? I strongly doubt it," Harvey said.
Harvey, in a beautifully written and organized letter, says Sayles is persistent and caring.
"Ms. Sayles doesn't ever give up on us, and brings out the best in us," Harvey wrote.
Harvey and Sayles were both brought to tears this afternoon, and the class couldn't help but share a group hug.
