MACON, Ga. — Laura Horne teaches English and social studies to her third grade students at Northwest Laurens Elementary School.
Horne has taught English and social studies for 10 years.
Student Blake Sims nominated Horne because of the patience and care she gives to her students.
"She's an amazing teacher," wrote Sims. "Mrs. Horne wants us to learn and think. She tells us it's okay to make mistakes because that's how we learn."
