North Macon Zaxby's robbed at gunpoint

An employee was taking out trash when a masked suspect approached them with a gun Saturday night.

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect after a north Macon Zaxby's was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night.  

According to the press release from Bibb County Sheriff's Office, it happened at the restaurant location on Bass Road around 10 p.m.

It was reported an employee was taking out trash when a masked suspect approached with a gun, the release says.

The suspect then had the employee open the rear door of the restaurant, where the suspect entered and demanded money from the manager who was inside of the office. 

Once the suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash, he ran through the back of the restaurant in an unknown direction, the release says.

The suspect was last seen wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

No one was injured, the sheriff's office says, and the robbery is still under investigation.
