UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal Houston Co. wreck

One person is dead after a 2-vehicle wreck near the intersection of Moody Road and Willingham Drive in Bonaire.

UPDATE, 1:30 p.m.

According to a report from the Houston County Sheriff's Office, around 5:16 p.m. on Tuesday, 23-year-old Christopher Edwards was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 southbound on Moody Road when he collided with 82-year-old Mary Brooks, who was traveling westbound on Robert Bryson Smith Parkway in a 2015 Nissan Altima.

Horace, the passenger of Mary's vehicle died at the scene.

Mary was transported to Navicent Health to be treated for her injuries.

Edwards was not transported by emergency medical services.

The crash is still under investigation.

UPDATE: Coroner Danny Galpin has identified the victim in Tuesday's fatal accident as 82-year-old Horace Brooks.

That's according to Captain Ronnie Harlowe with the Houston County Sheriff’s Department.

Harlowe said one person was killed, but did not give any information on any other injuries to any other drivers or passengers.

Houston County Sheriff’s Department is not releasing the identity of the person killed at this time and are also not releasing details of cars or how the crash happened.
