The name of the pedestrian killed Thursday night on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard has been released.

Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley says he was 54-year-old Charlie Ray Brown.

The release of Brown's name comes after the victim was wrongly identified Friday.

Miley says the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in front of the Starbucks on Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard.

According to the Bibb Sheriff's Office, 27-year-old Destinie Johnson of Macon was driving when she swerved into the turning lane to avoid a vehicle that pulled out in front of her.

The sheriff's office says she did not see the man standing in that lane and hit him with her car.
